The Success of Your Treatment is Our Primary Concern

Addiction treatment that is tailored to ensure a successful outcome.

Specialised Care Reimbursed By Your Health Insurance

The Good Hope mission is to provide affordable and effective mental health care. We support the idea that addiction is a disorder that requires treatment, not a behaviour that deserves punishment.

We specialise in the treatment of all forms of addiction and have been approved by the Ministry of Health and Sport, and are registered by the WTZI to provide these treatment services. Good Hope is licensed to bill your Health Insurance directly for your treatment, so there is no immediate financial inconvenience to you.

A Special Problem Requires Specialised Treatment

Addiction is a special kind of problem that requires a special kind of treatment by people who are qualified to provide the service. Otherwise treatment is doomed to fail. All our staff are skilled and have had many years of cumulative experience in addiction treatment.

Our team will focus their efforts on helping you unravel the mysteries of your addiction. In addition, the team will not ignore the underlying contributing factors like childhood abuse, trauma and dysfunctional family systems in your treatment programme. Everything is important.

We believe that addiction is best treated in a clinical setting, where the intensity of the therapy and the closed environment of a clinic can produce very dramatic results. A residential programme also allows for some “time out” to reflect on the problem without distraction.

Good Hope GGZ Verslavingszorg About us

The Good Hope Treatment Model

Many people want to know how we treat addiction. At Good Hope, we are very clear with our treatment objectives. During the course of treatment, we would like our clients to achieve three very clear and simple objectives, which we believe will sustain a long term sobriety and recovery.

The first treatment objective

Deconstructing Your Defense System

We will help you identify the thinking and beliefs that lock you into the self destructive behavior of your addiction. Every addict has a water tight explanation that locks them into an ongoing addiction, even when you know it is going to end badly.

We will first help you identify these thoughts, beliefs, and cognitions and then attempt to deconstruct them such that it makes it more difficult for you to convince yourself that it is ok to continue using or drinking. We call this deconstructing your denial system.

The second treatment objective

Providing a Clear Understanding of Your Addiction

We will provide you with a very clear understanding of your substance use disorder, whether it is alcoholism or addiction. We will show you why you are different from a recreational drug or social drinker.

With this information, you will be in a better position to make an informed decision about your drug or alcohol use, and you will see why sobriety or abstinence is the safest path going forward for you. Nobody has ever stayed sober for very long simply out of fear of the consequences. Only a true understanding of the problem will sustain sobriety. We call this providing a construct of addiction.

The third treatment objective

Minimise Your Relapse Risk Profile

We will help reduce your relapse risk profile. With your input, we will help you identify the problems in your life that are likely to contribute to a relapse. Our team will then help you understand these issues so that you are able to resolve them more easily.

We will help you devise strategies so that you are not overwhelmed by these problems and find yourself back in a relapse. We will introduce or connect you to support systems to sustain you during the early difficult days of recovery from addiction.

Our most important treatment objective is to provide a sense of hope that recovery is possible.
